Current positions

Senior System Administrator

The System Administrator is a member of a small IT operations team with a primary focus on business operations support. The person in this position must be an experienced IT professional, able to understand and support our business processes, web-based technical products and customer expectations. It is essential that the System Administrator is able to perform complex tasks in a Linux environment and troubleshoot an intricate 24x7 production environment. In addition, this person is expected to oversee, recommend and implement solutions and enhancements that improve reliability and performance of the system.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of solid IT experience.
  • A degree holder in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Very familiar with Linux (CentOS, RHEL, Ubuntu) and skilled in Solaris and Windows.
  • Skilled in TCP/IP networking and routing.
  • Scripting ability in shell, perl and/or python.
  • Experience working with remote data centers and complex production deployments.
  • Self motiviated and able to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
  • Eligibility to work in the US.
Pluses:
  • Operational familiarity BGP and other routing technologies.
  • Experience with distributed filesytems (e.g., lustre, GlusterFS, HadoopFS).
  • Experience with distributed and grid computing environments (e.g., Candor, Hadoop, LSF, Sun Gridengine).
Senior Software Engineer (Data Tier)

Renesys software engineers are responsible for architecting, developing, and maintaining interactive Internet applications. You will work with a small team to enhance back-end data products and develop completely new ones, providing real-time access to a vast data repository that is focused on the structure and status of the global Internet. Requirements:

  • A degree holder in computer science, applied math or a related field.
  • Very familiar with Linux and open source.
  • Skilled in at least one of Python or Perl.
  • Experience in processing large data.
  • Experience in writing new APIs and writing to existing APIs.
  • Exposure to automated data analysis.
  • Smart, goal-oriented team player focused on producing high quality code in a timely manner.
  • Eligibility to work in the US.
Pluses:
  • At least 5 years of software development experience.
  • Skilled in both Python and Perl.
  • Experience with SQL, custom indexing solutions, network programming and systems integration.
  • Experience analyzing data for anomalies, recurrences and other patterns.
  • Operational experience and system diagnostic capability.
  • Familiarity working with extremely large, complex datasets.
  • A good understanding of performance issues in a distributed Linux computing environment.
  • Familiarity with network protocols and knowledge of routing (i.e., the typical alphabet soup of TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, BGP, etc.).
Senior Software Engineer (Web Tier)

The software engineer is responsible for architecting, developing, and maintaining interactive Internet applications. You will work with a small team to enhance our existing products and develop completely new ones, providing real-time intuitive access to a vast data repository that is focused on the structure and status of the global Internet.

Requirements:
  • A degree holder in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Familiarity with Linux and open source environments
  • Skilled in Python
  • 3+ years experience with interactive component design and development: Javascript/DHTML, DOM, AJAX, Flash
  • CSS, HTML/XHTML, XML, JSON and template technologies
  • Database programming, SQL
  • A solid understanding of web application programming architectures and frameworks, including HTTP, cookies, etc.
  • Smart, goal-oriented team player focused on producing high quality code in a timely manner
  • Eligibility to work in the US.
Pluses:
  • At least 3 years of software development experience
  • Familiarity with basic networking concepts
  • Java and Perl experience
  • Strong communications skills and graphic design sense
  • Experience with GIS and/or data mining applications
  • Related contributions to open source projects
